Why P.T.A. is the best

Physical Therapy Associates Voted “Best of the Best” Hi, my name is Erik van Dijk and for the last 28 years I have helped patients regain their physical function after being incapacitated by injury or accidents. I received my training in Holland, Europe and was fortunate enough to be instructed by the finest clinicians of our time. During the seventies, there was a movement across Europe where the value of hands-on treatment was favored and still is. I adhere to that same philosophy today. What Makes Physical Therapy Associates Any Better or Any Different Than All The Other Physical Therapy Centers? First and foremost we are a patient advocate. We fight for your rights to receive proper treatment and will secure authorization for the treatment that you need. Unfortunately, a lot of insurance companies limit the number of physical therapy visits per patient per year so it is vital that you make the right choice of provider when it comes to physical therapy. A common problem in our profession is the use of untrained or unlicensed personnel. The person treating you MUST be a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. Other facilities employ athletic trainers and exercise physiologist who are not trained to treat general pathology and conditions common in physical therapy. Last but not least, some facilities employ aides to carry out therapeutic modalities without any knowledge of the disease process that may be underlying of the complaint for which you are being seen. Local Physical Therapist Exposes A Myth Regarding The Role Of Rehabilitation Through “Hands-On” Physical Therapy Despite all the technological inventions over the last decade, there is still nothing that can replace the healing benefits of the human touch. The Insurance Industry wants you to believe that a few exercises done at home by yourself is all you need to heal. I disagree with that philosophy. I believe a well trained, experienced Therapist has a lot more to offer than merely handing out an exercise instruction sheet. Physical Therapy is like going from the basement to the first floor. You need to take all the steps of the stairway to get from one level to the next. A patient in pain is reluctant to exercise the painful area because it hurts. I feel that it is my responsibility to relieve the pain and in doing so, take away the fear of movement. My patients are my partners and together we are working toward a healing process that returns them to a normal life. We Accomplish Our Goals By Putting Our Patients First Over the past decade we have carved out our position in the market by providing hours that no one else offers. We understand your need to schedule appointments when it’s convenient for you so we have early morning and evening hours available to accommodate your busy schedule. No More Waiting In a Cold Dingy Waiting Area Managing our patient flow is crucial to our success, so you will be seen at your appointment time or earlier, if possible. We give our patients equal attention and consideration. Our Commitment To You We are committed to getting you well again and exceeding your expectations. Showing interest in your progress and reflecting that into your treatment plan is critical. We’ll provide documentation to your physician from the initial evaluation and keep him or her updated with progress reports before your next appointment. Hand Carry The Report Directly To Your Doctor This is essential in building trust with you and your physician. We provide the documentation back-up necessary for the continuation or adjustment of the treatment plan. Your complete recovery and satisfaction is our goal! Our Mission To provide the best physical therapy care to our patients, at their convenience, while staying in touch with the referring physician, case manager and insurance company. We know you have a choice and cherish that the choice is Physical Therapy Associates! What Our Patients Are Saying “I have used Erik for years.
